News: Australian dark fiction promotion project
From Chuck McKenzie: About a month back, I put out an invitation to Australian authors, editors and publishers of horror and dark fiction to supply details of their respective publications for inclusion in an upcoming project. Having received many responses already, and with the project (helmed by Marty Young, David Schembri, and myself) nearing completion (full details to be announced shortly), I'm putting out a 'last call' to the local speculative community in general for further information.
For those who have not already sent details of their publications, here are the perameters:
- Publications should clearly fall into the horror, dark fantasy or paranormal romance genres. Novels, collections and anthologies are all welcome, but please query any other publications. 'Mixed' anthologies or collections are fine, as long as there is a notable dark element to the publication.
- Publications must be currently available for booksellers to buy.
- The author (although not necessarily the publisher/distributor) must be Australian
- Author/publisher/supplier name, together with ISBN-13, must be supplied.
- A weblink should also be supplied if the book is being distributed from a small press or sole operator.
The intention behind this project is to directly boost sales of Australian dark fiction, so I would urge any and all practitioners of Australian dark fiction to respond to this call asap. Deadline for getting details to me is Tuesday 19th May.
