News: Evil Reigns on Melbourne

Melbourne got its first taste of the "infected" last night with the premiere screening of the low budget horror feature When Evil Reigns.
The film, made by Melbourne brothers Alix and Luke Jackson was shown to a devout crowd of almost 200 people at a packed "exclusive" screening at the McKinnon Secondary College Cinema.
Introduced by the Jackson brothers as a "no budget" film, the project was the culmination of seven years work for the team and made on a budget of just $5000.
When Evil Reigns tells the story of a group of students who are trapped in a deserted school building when a downpour turns everyone out in the rain into bloodthirsty killers. Part zombie movie/ part slasher the film explores the destruction of the group as it is forced to work together to keep the zombie hoardes at bay. When they start being killed off one by one, they realise the real danger is not the "infected", but from someone inside.
The screening proved to be a hit as an entertained crowd laughed and jumped in delight as the film played out, cheering on the various deaths and a climatic battle with a nail gun.
Afterwards co-writer/director Luke Jackson was delighted with the response.
All proceeds from the screening will go towards a master copy of the DVD, which will be distributed through the US by Day by Day Entertainment.
